About This Activity
Marsden Swim School’s Newborn & Infant Swimming Lessons provide young children with a structured and positive introduction to swimming, helping them develop confidence and essential skills in the water from an early age. The programme follows a progressive, competency-based approach, allowing each child to develop at their own pace as they become increasingly comfortable in an aquatic environment. Lessons introduce fundamental skills such as water familiarisation, breath control, floating, safe entry and exit, propulsion and returning safely to the pool edge. Parents participate in the water during the early stages of the programme, with coaches providing guidance on how to support their child throughout each lesson. This creates opportunities for parent-child interaction while helping both parent and child build greater confidence around water. Small group classes provide an engaging environment where children can learn alongside others while receiving guidance from their coach. Private coaching is also available for families looking for a more personalised swimming experience. Through progressive learning and regular exposure to the water, the programme aims to establish strong foundations in water confidence, safety awareness and fundamental aquatic skills, preparing children for continued swimming development as they grow. This service is offered by Marsden Swim School.
